1. Handling wastewater from detergent chemicals

Handling wastewater from detergent chemicals plays an important role in minimizing negative impacts on the environment. Detergent chemicals contain a large amount of harmful, hard-to-degrade chemicals that persist in water for a long time...

If not treated properly and discharged directly into water sources, it will threaten the aquatic life and indirectly affect human health. Some common methods to improve pollution indices in detergent wastewater today include:

- Physical methods (bar screens, sand traps, flotation,...).

- Chemical and physical methods (neutralization, flocculation,...).

- Biological methods (biogas,...).

2. Detergent wastewater treatment system

Advantages of the system:

- The technology is completely suitable for the characteristics of the wastewater.

- The concentration and pollution levels after treatment meet current standards.

- The modular design of the facility allows for easy expansion and maximum processing capacity enhancement.

3. Process of treating wastewater containing detergent chemicals

Depending on the product, technology, and different chemicals used, different treatment processes are chosen. But basically, the treatment process goes through the following 7 stages:

– Stage 1: Collecting and treating solid waste

The wastewater containing detergent chemicals will be discharged into a collection pit. This wastewater will contain a certain amount of acid, so before treatment, NaOH is added to stabilize the pH. The solid waste will be filtered through bar screens to limit pipe blockages and increase treatment efficiency.

– Stage 2: Treating detergent wastewater in the equalization tank

After preliminary treatment, the wastewater is further sent to the equalization tank to adjust the concentration and flow rate. During this process, the air blower operates continuously to provide oxygen, prevent anaerobic conditions, sedimentation, and unpleasant odors.

– Stage 3: Coagulation - flocculation

Chemicals are pumped into the tank in a specific amount to bind the dirt into flocs. The flocculation tank will receive the wastewater along with coagulant chemicals Polymer and form large flocs that can settle.

– Stage 4: Settling tank

After coagulation - flocculation, the wastewater is directed to the settling tank, where the large flocs settle at the bottom and are easily removed. The sludge flocs, after separation, are transferred to a sludge holding tank, while the wastewater is sent to the aerobic biological tank.

– Stage 5: Treatment in the aerobic biological tank

At this stage, any remaining organic matter from the previous stages is treated using the aerobic biological method. Microorganisms will use the organic compounds as food, convert them into energy for growth and development.

– Stage 6: Return to the biological settling tank

In the biological settling tank, the wastewater is separated from activated sludge and transferred to the central area. Part of the sludge after settling will circulate back to the aerobic tank to maintain biomass, while the rest is transferred to a sludge holding tank for periodic treatment.

– Stage 7: Disinfection tank

The disinfection process is carried out to remove harmful bacteria in the water such as coliform, E. coli,... then the treated wastewater is discharged into the centralized discharge area.

In general, treating detergent wastewater is not too difficult, but businesses need to understand the importance, operational capabilities, and conduct regular checks to obtain clean wastewater that meets standards.
